Description
Stirbey's Palace was built at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the next century by Gheorghe Ştirbei and Elisabeta Băleanu.
It is three kilometers from Darmanesti, Bacau-Romania in the middle of an oak forest, on a plateau and at an altitude of 600 meters.
It served as the residence of the Prince's family until 1944 when it was expropriated and expelled. Between 1947-1977 he housed a TBC sanatorium, then a children's camp and even a private airport.
At its level is still in operation the oldest water supply in the county, made in 1908 by a team of German engineers through which the water is brought from the mountains, at a distance of 8 km. The palace has suffered countless degradation over time, mainly due to environmental factors and wear over time: damage to the structure of resistance, earthquakes, exterior masonry and interior plastering, damage caused by rain, moisture, defective operation heating plant.
Please note that the FINE ART AMERICA watermark will not appear on the final print! :)
