"Childhood memories" is one of the main works of Romanian writer Ion Creanga. The largest of his two works belonging to the memorial genre, contains some of the most characteristic examples of Romanian narrative first person narration, being considered by the critics Creangă's masterpiece.

The book gives a detailed account of Ion Creangă's childhood, spent in what was then the Principality of Moldavia, with details of the social landscape of the childhood universe, describing the relationship between the main hero, and the various people he interacted with.

The text itself is remarkable by the use of a characteristic vocabulary rich in dialectal particularities in Moldova area.
